Presentation Instructions for Speakers and Posters

Keynote presentations will be 40 minutes including time for questions
Oral presentations will be 20 minutes including time for questions
Poster presentation size: (vertical): width 90 cm, height 110 cm
Presentations must be set up prior to the beginning of the session.
Preferred: Bring your presentation on a CD or a memory stick compatible with a PC.
Alternatively: Personal laptop computers may be used, but you must ensure compatibility with the LCD projector prior to the start of the session. Also bring a CD or memory stick as a backup.
Overhead projectors will not be supplied except upon special request at least one month before the conference and at the speaker's expense.


The official currency of the Czech Republic is the Czech crown (koruna), abbreviated as Kc, with the international abbreviation CZK. 1 crown consists of 100 hellers, abbreviated as hal. Heller coins have not been in use as of September 1, 2008, but hellers are still incorporated into merchandise prices. The final price is always rounded off to the nearest crown value.
The approximate value of 100 CZK is 4 EUR/6 USD.

How to get from the Airport to the Conference Venue

Unfortunately there is no subway or train connection to the city.
- At the bus terminal, take Bus no. 119 -> Dejvicka (last stop) / intervals of 5-20 minutes, journey time of 25-30 minutes
- Transfer to underground line A -> for four stations to Mustek
- Change for the underground line B -> in the direction of Cerny Most -> exit at Vysocanska Station
- Take the only exit and follow the signs for Clarion Congress Hotel. The hotel is an extension of the subway entrance and you do not need to go outside.

TRAVEL TIME: Approximate 50 minutes

TICKET: You should buy a ticket before travelling. You can do this in the arrival hall at public transportation counters located in Terminals 1 and 2 (open 7:00am to 10:00pm), from ticket vending machines located at bus stops, or if arriving late and all shops are closed buy a ticket directly from the driver but note that large banknotes are not accepted.
Bus ticket - or you may buy a ticket sending the following SMS message to the number 90206:DPT32.
Price: 32 CZK allowing you to travel for a 90-minute period / 40 CZK if purchased from the driver

Note that if you are carrying any large pieces of luggage i.e. a backpack or suitcase you will need to purchase an additional 1/2 price ticket.

AAA Taxi -> These cab-stands are located directly in front of the arrival halls at Terminal 1 - exit D, and at Terminal 2 - exit E. You can easily recognize them because they are all yellow and use mostly Czech made cars - Skoda (reasonably good vehicles).
TIME: Approximate 1 hour
Price: The price depends on the traffic and ranges from 160 CZK (minimum charge) to 1050 CZK if you travel to the farthest end of Prague. The usual price to the city centre is around 600 CZK and you shouldn't pay more than 700 CZK. Generally most of their drivers do not speak English.

The standard electricity supply is 230-volts AC at 50Hz.
The Type E electrical plug is identified by two round pins spaced 19mm apart, with a hole for the socket's male grounding pin.


Summer in Prague can be absolutely beautiful. The city parks turn green and the restaurants open their garden terraces. The average temperature in August is about 23ºC / 73ºF.


The standard VAT rate in the Czech Republic is 21% since 1 January 2010.
